Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my therapy take?

Therapy can be as short as 3-6 sessions of counselling and hypnosis for a single, uncomplicated goal, or up to six months or longer (perhaps using a combination of counselling, hypnosis, EMDR, and yoga therapy) for more complicated issues and goals.  The length of time for therapy is determined by the you, the client in collaboration with myself, the therapist, leading to maximum results of awareness, healing, and transformation in the briefest amount of time possible.

Can I get coverage for therapy?

Many of my clients fund therapy on their own, as they recognize that optimum mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health is their most precious resource.  Many other clients receive full or partial coverage from the following sources:

Extended Health Care Plans and Health Care Spending Accounts:

Many extended health care plans and health care spending accounts cover in full or in part the services of a Registered Social Worker.  Please read your benefits coverage booklet or check with your benefits plan administrator to see if you have coverage for therapy with a Registered Social Worker.

Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance:

Motor Vehicle Accident survivors and their families are eligible for therapy with a Registered Social Worker through their automobile insurance.  This coverage, available up to ten years following a serious motor vehicle accident, is intended to help survivors cope with issues of grief, job loss, chronic pain, etc…  Once a treatment plan is approved, the Registered Social Worker is paid directly by the Insurance Company, resulting in no "out of pocket" expenses for the client.

What type of therapy would work best for me?

Some clients have a definite idea of what type of therapy they are interested in while others are open to any therapy that will work.  I honour your choices and preferences, working with you, using the forms of therapy that we mutually decide will be most beneficial for effective awareness, healing and transformation in your unique situation.

Who is your "ideal client"?

You are my ideal client if you are someone who realizes that health is your most precious resource, and you are willing to commit funding, time, and effort into awareness, healing, and transformation.  You are excited by the opportunity to lead a more fulfilled, joyful life and are committed to resolving the past so you can live in the present.

You take Kundalini Yoga Classes and/or the Chakra Yoga for Joyful Living Course (or have other well developed resources) to compliment individual therapy.  You put aside time daily (even 3-11 minutes) to practice self hypnosis (with or without a personalized CD), meditate, and/or do the Kundalini Yoga kriyas that we have determined would be optimal for your enhanced awareness, healing, and transformation.

Please contact me to set up an appointment if you see yourself in the above description.  I look forward to supporting your journey of awareness, healing, and change.
