Clinical Hypnosis
Want change? Hypnosis works...
Hypnosis, a natural state of concentrated attention, opens the door to endless possibilities for healing, self-exploration, and change. Hypnotic trance is a state of mind that many of us experience almost daily (i.e. while daydreaming, reading, or watching tv). Sometimes, hypnosis has been portrayed in the media in inaccurate and alarming ways. But, hypnotherapy, practiced by a well trained professional, is safe, natural, has few unwanted side-effects, and achieves results faster than many other forms of treatment, both psychological and medical.
Most
people report being relaxed and aware during a mild to medium trance,
and can remember the details of the hypnosis session. It is
essential to have a trusting, open relationship with myself, your
therapist. The effects of clinical hypnosis will be enhanced if I
understand your situation and can tailor my suggestions to your
specific needs. I am always open to respond to any questions you
may have about your experience with clinical hypnosis or about hypnotic
techniques.
During hypnosis, I can bypass the conscious, critical mind and communicate directly with the subconscious side of your brain, the part that determines the majority of actions in your daily life. Hypnosis generally starts with a guided progressive relaxation which allows you to let go of unconscious patterns of holding. Hypnosis puts most people into an alpha or theta brain wave pattern, where learning is enhanced and visual images are heightened. I will then use visual images to awaken the subconscious and appeal to all five of your senses to imagine your desired change as if it were already real.
Through visualization, you will learn how to use the law of attraction and the power of conscious creation. Your trance may also involve positive affirmations that are uniquely applicable to you. These techniques offer a direct pathway to your inner wisdom, a vast storehouse of information and creative problem solving ability to support your process of transformation.
A session can be recorded so that you can practice at home. Since benefits increase with repetition, you are encouraged to practice self-hypnosis, either with the session recordings, or on your own.
